Laser Tracker services

A laser Tracker is a portable Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), ideal for inspecting the dimensions of major pieces of machinery. They can quickly and precisely measure vast volumes of assemblies, parts, and tools. Further, they can provide real-time feedback on the measurements, thanks to their huge working radial volume and accuracy of up to 0.001 inches.
At McCormick’s Metrology, we use Laser Tracker technology to provide highly accurate precision readings to our clients. Whatever your manufacturing business deals in, we have the expertise to offer you complete laser measurement solutions that are second to none. The advanced technology allows us to deliver highly accurate results regardless of the size and shape of your component.

Coordinate Measurement Machine

The CMM allows us to inspect and measure complex parts and surfaces. It’s a tool for both contact and non-contact measurement. With the hard probe, we can collect data on simple to complex geometry on machined parts. We can program and operate CMM utilizing many different languages, this tool is the best for high-volume production and tight tolerances! We have a large working volume on our CMM the biggest being 12.30.10. (5ft x 12 ft x 4 feet)

Our CMMs are flexible and can run any programming software.

Articulating Arm (Faro & Romer)

We offer expert measurement services using the latest tools and equipment in our facility. Our measurement services dominantly rely on Faro Arm and Romer, both of which are outstanding for precision measurements for aerospace, machining, assembly, and automotive industries. The complex technology uses touch-based measurements for a holistic solution and measures every inch of the tool or mold with high precision.

Both Faro and Romer articulating arms can work under extreme conditions and can be deployed in all types of settings, even in extreme temperatures. They are made from highly durable materials and offer lower downtime for verifications by reporting accurate results every time.

Laser Scanning (Creaform)

At McCormick’s Metrology, we use “Creaform” 3d laser scanning to offer our clients a complete laser scanning solution for large or small-scale projects. Our portable 3d scanners make it convenient to obtain reliable 3D data whether you are in a manufacturing facility or in the field.

We have handheld 3D scanners that have been designed to accelerate product development, ensuring optimal quality standards using non-contact measurements. Our 3D scanning services help businesses gain a competitive edge, lower costs and time associated with product development, and optimize production processes.

Reverse Engineering

Reverse engineering offers a practical way to produce a 3D virtual model of an existing physical part for use in 3D CAD, CAM, CAE, or other applications as computer-aided design (CAD) has grown in popularity.

We combine the necessary tools, engineering personnel, and expertise to complete even the most challenging reverse engineering projects.

Source Inspection

Source inspection is necessary to ensure the tools and parts used in your industry are made using the right standards and quality. As professional solutions providers, we understand the significance of inspecting a part or tool’s source before putting it into service. This is why our source inspection service comprises a comprehensive evaluation to ensure the product or tool you have meets the defined standards to avoid any technical faults or loss of productivity.

Mechanical Inspection

We provide service and support to meet the expectations of our clients when it comes to mechanical inspection tools. From technical assistance to sales assistance, we provide our clients with spare parts and repair services. Our objective is to serve as a comprehensive solutions provider that lowers your costs and downtime while increasing work efficiency and service.

Our mechanical inspection includes calibration of geometric analysis, accuracy improvement, and monitoring tools to improve results and durability.

CAI Software programming

First Article Inspection (AS9102, PPAP)

FAI (First Article Inspection)

Here at McCormick’s Metrology, we have the skills to bridge the gap between the real and the virtual world. We have led the way in the field by developing non-contact laser scanning and laser tracking technology for reverse engineering.

We use the most recent equipment and software in combination with our unparalleled experience and knowledge to digitize real items of all kinds in three dimensions. No matter how complex a product or part may be, we can create a highly accurate digital surface mapping of it using the most recent non-contact laser scanning and tracking equipment.

Tooling & Fixture

We utilize high-accuracy laser trackers and portable CMM’s to verify and certify tooling and fixtures. Our team’s extensive knowledge of production processes and standards provides the highest quality certification services.

Whether you are launching a new manufacturing plant, re-certifying a fixture, or aligning a new one in your existing plant, McCormick’s Metrology has the tools to help you succeed! The current manufacturing industry relies heavily on automation. These automated processes need consistent and high-speed production with the ultimate goal of zero rejects. Accuracy, precision, and reliability requirements must be met to achieve this goal, which is extremely difficult to attain using traditional alignment methods. McCormick’s Metrology uses the most advanced equipment in the market to help manufacturers reach their goals.
